I quite enjoy the image of Vegeta you picked for this. Too perfect XD
I usually look at the story line and the drawing style. If I don't like both of these (ex. Death Note) I won't read/watch it anyway
I tend to gravitate away from the disgustingly cutsy stuff personally (like pita-ten style art) or the really shojo style art (with a very few exceptions) as well as the really generic looking stuff. I'm all over story wise though I do tend to like the darker stuff most (Pluto, Monster, etc)
Totally love the manga more than the anime (hm, that may be a tad harsh)... but I think that's just because I read it in it's entirety when it was still in Shonen Jump. That was when it was just Dragon Ball and not three anime series.
... I've noticed many fans only have seen the anime... and the manga isn't really the same thing xD
